A little about me
01.
I’m Darby
I have lived in Iowa all my life. I used to think that I drew the short straw living in the midwest, but after being here for 20+ years, I have come to learn just how lucky I am to be in the heartland.
I live in Central Iowa with my husband, Angel, and our Dalmatian, Baymax!

Why Horses?
I started with a deep love for dogs and canine photography, but ever since I was young, I always dreamed of having my own horse. My parents let me take lessons at a young age, where I fell in love with my first lesson horse: Joe, a large Tobiano Paint. Joe helped me forge an even deeper love for horses.
After taking a large break from riding (almost 15 years), I was able to get back into riding. I was referred by a friend of mine to one of the best barns I have ever had the privilege to be a part of: Decker 7 Farm. There, I learned to ride again. There, I was able to find my first horse, Bambi. A dream come true.
Through lessons, riding, and time in the barn, my passion for photography shifted to the Equestrian side. There is nothing more distracting to a camera than a good looking horse. There is nothing more enticing to the soul than a good barn family.
So, to answer the question- why not horses?
